Hikes for all levels for families
Family escapades – Emotions together
Going on a guided family hike is so much more than just a walk. It’s a shared adventure where every step brings discovery, and every smile becomes a precious memory. Together, you follow varied trails—through forests, across alpine pastures, and up to scenic viewpoints—offering both children and adults moments of wonder and connection.
Family hiking is also a chance to learn and pass things on. You observe wildlife tracks, explore mountain plants, listen to local legends, and marvel at nature’s simple treasures: a colourful butterfly, a sparkling stream, a flowering thistle. Each outing becomes a small life lesson, teaching us to respect, understand, and appreciate the natural world.
But above all, these moments strengthen family bonds. Far from the pressures of everyday life, you take the time to laugh, talk, help each other, and share true moments of togetherness. Family hiking is the art of enjoying the present moment—of creating joy, sharing experiences, and growing side by side in the rhythm of the mountains.

The History of Alpine Pastures – Heritage, Culture & Delicacies
On a gentle walk along the pedestrian trails, departing from Sommand or Praz de Lys (on request), I will guide you on a journey into the heart of the station’s history, alpine pastures, and mountain traditions that have shaped life here.
From the heights of the plateau, we will trace the evolution of Praz de Lys Sommand: from the first alpine chalets to the major summer grazing periods, from the development of the ski resort to its enduring connections with the Giffre and Brevon valleys. You will discover how the mountains were lived in, cultivated, and traversed long before the arrival of skis!
Through anecdotes, rural heritage, past ways of life, and local stories, this gentle walk becomes a true immersion into the identity of our mountains.
And because discovery also involves the taste buds, the outing will end with a gourmet break showcasing local flavors.
Why you’ll love it: A gentle and inspiring experience where nature, discovery, and winter ambiance come together harmoniously. Accessible to all—families, friends, curious explorers, or lovers of authenticity—this outing offers a peaceful and charming bubble in the heart of the mountains.

The Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval: a breathtaking natural spectacle
For a peaceful and memorable day out, we take you to the Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval, located in the Giffre Valley in Haute-Savoie—an exceptional natural site that will amaze the whole family. This glacial cirque, with its towering cliffs and majestic waterfalls, offers a breathtaking spectacle where nature reveals all its splendour.
Following the well-marked trails inside the Nature Reserve, you enter a vast natural amphitheatre where limestone walls rise more than 700 metres high. Higher up, the flower-filled meadows burst with colourful alpine species. This family outing is the perfect opportunity to share special moments together while discovering the natural treasures of Haute-Savoie. A picnic or an afternoon snack in the heart of this stunning site will make the day even more enjoyable!
